BBN Cargo Airlines Holdings has established BBN Airlines Indonesia, a Jakarta-based airline which is predicted to receive its AOC next year.
Established on 31 August by the company operating Icelandic cargo airline, Bluebird Nordic, it will operate from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, catering for growing demand for cargo services.
Martynas Grigas, Commissioner of BBN Cargo Airlines Holdings, says Indonesia has a promising future due to growth of imports and exports, and the rise of e-commerce.
Grigas says, “Indonesia is the largest and fastest-growing internet economy and is expected to account for half of all e-commerce transactions in Southeast Asia by 2025. We see this as a great opportunity and are excited to develop the cargo airline to fulfil the market needs.”
BBN Airlines Indonesia is in the process of getting the airline business licence, which is expected to be ready this year with the AOC predicted to follow in the second quarter of 2023.
